Time, once again, for me to DVR a show I've heard good things about, thought I should check out, but never did. Our pal, Sturgill Simpson, a.k.a. the Savior of Country Music, has a song that is set to be featured on FX's The Bridge.

I've said it dozens of times already, but it merits repeating. Simpson's latest album, Metamodern Sounds in Country Music, has been in the CD player in my truck since April. The only time it comes out is to give to friends, I must've given it away 8 or 9 times. Start to finish I LOVE this album.

He's got a show in Dallas this November, I already bought my tickets. I never buy tickets months out, it's just not something I do.

So, back to The Bridge. According to Little Brother Music & Artist Services ,out of Los Angeles, Simpson's current single Turtles all the Way Down, will be on the Sept. 3rd episode.

For those of you familiar with the show, the song plays in a very poignant scene as heard on the radio while a van that is driving into the desert with a cop who have been bound and gagged is awaiting his fate.  There is a visual vocal as well as in another scene the character Chopper is humming the song as he is digging a grave.

So, there it is. My reason to finally give The Bridge on FX a try, I'll let you know if it's any good. The show, not the song; we already know the song is. And if nothing else, we know the show's producers have superb taste in music. Download Sturgill Simpson music.
