After weeks of rumors and speculation, Wade Bowen revealed in a live interview with Waco's KWTX today that he will undergo a minor surgery Thursday morning.

“There are probably rumors going around, but I’m good,” Bowen said. “I’ve had to take vocal rest for the last month or so, month and a half. So I’m going to have minor surgery tomorrow morning.”

Bowen's vocal chord issues have forced him to cancel several shows over the past 6 weeks or so. Additionally the surgery will prevent him from singing at his Bowen Music Fest this weekend in Waco. But he still plans to be there to show his support for the 20th anniversary show.

“I don’t even know if I’ll be able to speak,” Bowen said. “I definitely won’t be able to sing this Sunday at the music festival but I will be there leading the jam and trying to shake hands and thank everybody so much. It’s really not a big deal. I just have to have this surgery so I can get back on the road as soon as possible.”
