RTX Sunday Video: Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit ‘If We Were Vampires’
Jason Isbell’s The Nashville Sound has struck a cord with music lovers across the country. This week the Alabama native (and honorary Texan) lands the RTX Sunday Video with “If We Were Vampires.”
Released on June 16th, with virtually zero radio support,The Nashville Sound, debuted at No. 1 — ahead of Lady Antebellum’s then new release, Heart Break. It replaced Chris Stapleton’s From a View: Volume 1.
His last album, the critically acclaimed 2015, Something More Than Free, won two Grammy Awards (Best Americana Album, and Best American Roots Song for “24 Frames”). It also won two Americana Music Association Awards (Album of the Year & Song of The Year, “24 Frames”).
The Nashville Sound features ten new songs: “White Man’s World,” “The Last Of My Kind,” “If We Were Vampires,” “Anxiety,” “Chaos and Clothes,” “Something To Love,” “Cumberland Gap,” and “Hope The Highroad,” and was produced by fellow Grammy Award-winner Dave Cobb.
