Hard to believe that it's now been seven years since Uncle Lucius came by the Radio Texas, LIVE! studios and played us a song we had never heard before... not many had by that point.

A longtime favorite band in the Texas scene, when Kevin and the guys sang "Keep the Wolves Away" live on the show that fateful night we knew that it would be the song that would finally send Uncle Lucius to the ears of the masses.

The song tells the story of lead singer Kevin Galloway's dad, who was severely injured in a work accident and his fight to stay alive and keep the family together. Galloway documents his family's move from South Texas to East Texas, where he eventually started a band of his own.

For over a decade they were one of Austin’s elite bands, a band that displayed why Austin is "The Live Music Capital of The World," and so special. The guys were known across The Lone Star State and beyond for an amazing live experience, and such hits as “Everybody Got Soul,” “Pocket Full of Misery” and “Liquor Store.”

Uncle Lucius relentlessly toured Texas, to both coasts and back throughout their career. In 2014 the guys took home Best New Band at the Texas Regional Radio Report. It was two years ago, longtime front man and co-founder of Uncle Lucius, Kevin Galloway released his solo debut album, The Change, on August 3, 2018. After a decade fronting UL, Galloway is still regarded as one of Texas' purest and most soulful voices.
